Bec & Toby | Banjo Paterson Restaurant, Sydney, NSW

Last year I was lucky enough to be asked by Toby to photograph his wedding to his beautiful bride, Rebecca (if I call her that once more, she’ll never speak to me again! It’s Bec from now on!).
The day itself started early with my arrival at The Sebel Pier One Sydney Hotel just after 9:00am. With the location right under the Sydney Harbour Bridge, it was easy to see why the hotel was chosen!
Bec looked so calm and relaxed when I arrived, I knew she was ready for the day. Once she sat down to get her hair done though, I think the moment hit home. She was glowing! Then it was a quick walk downstairs, through the hotel lobby and into the waiting water taxi to shuttle the bridal party off to Banjo Paterson Restaurant.
Once I arrived at Banjo Patterson Restaurant in Gladesville, the water taxi had just left and I could see Bec’s bridesmaid doing some last adjustments to her dress and then it was show time!
The ceremony went through with only a slight bit of rain – not that the bride and groom minded! They declined the umbrellas and kept going on with their amazing day.
Once the paper work was out of the way, it was down to the waters edge for some photos with the bridal party. I couldn’t have asked for a better backdrop for my photos!
Then it was back up to the restaurant for a short meal before it was back outside to cut the “cake” (which was really a range of cup cakes stacked, and also shaped like a love heart) and the traditional speeches by bridal party and bride & groom.
Going into the day I was a little worried about the weather forecast and it being in a single venue for the entire day.
It’s clear I had nothing to worry about! The rain was a distant thought the whole day and when it did arrive, Bec and Toby weren’t going to let some rain ruin their day!

I’ve posted some of my favourite photos from the day below (and also added a few to my portfolio on my homepage.) I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Everyone wants clear blue skies for their wedding, but I think the clouds add so much to a shot like this!

And that’s a wrap. A nice group photo to remember everyone who shared their special day
