Kathryn and Marty’s wedding was one of my highlights from 2013! The first word I think of when I look back at these wedding photos is LOVE.
I was so excited about the photos; I even put up a wedding photography preview blog post last year!
From the first meeting in a coffee shop next to a train station, I could tell these two were ready to get married. I could just see the connection they had with each other. And the connection spread to me as well…we all just clicked!
The day started at Kathryn’s parent’s house in Peakhurst, NSW. After she gave a beautiful necklace as a present to her flower girls, it was time to put on the dress and start the prep for her wedding!
Kath had thought of everything for the day – from the jewellery and matching silver cases for her bridesmaids and the two flower girls shoes which matched just right. And all the way down to little labels for each of the bouquets.
We moved out the front of the house for some quick family portraits and it was back inside for some last touch-ups and a few special words from her mother before she walked down the aisle.
We drove just around the corner for the ceremony which was being held at Our Lady Of Fatima Catholic Church Peakhurst. The church itself was almost at capacity by the time we arrived with the bridal party with a few close friends of Kathryn’s playing some soothing music to the waiting guests.
As soon as Kathryn walked down the aisle, you couldn’t wipe the smile from Marty’s face. He was glowing almost as much as Kath was!
After a traditional ceremony, the papers were signed, hugs were shared and it was onto our first location, Oatley Park.
As we walked down toward the water’s edge, the view hit me. It was stunning here! Crystal blue skies, and a wooden wharf poking out into calm, silky smooth blue water. We captured some great signature wedding photographs of the newlywed couple before a few snaps with the bridal party.
As we walked back up towards the waiting limo, Kath & Marty walked under a tree with the sun rays gleaming through – it was too good of an opportunity not to take!
We left Oatley and made our way up to Doonside. Not known for its wedding scenery or exotic locations…The Colebee Centre is the exception to the rule.
The reception venue is nestled in the middle of Nurrangingy Reserve which is an amazing bushland reserve with some stunning scenery.
Kathryn and Marty wanted some photos in the local bushland and also around the Blacksmith’s Hut. And they weren’t afraid of going a little cross country to get some truly stunning wedding photographs! The sun was setting just right, and the 100-year old trees provided a beautiful backdrop for their photos, along with Kath’s dress flowing through the rich green grass.
The staff at the Colebee Centre did a phenomenal job with setting up the room and managing to fit all the guests, while still having enough room to move. The drinks were flowing, the speeches were given (and a tear or two were spotted!) and then the dance floor was alive with action till the music stopped close to midnight.
After a long day and some amazing help from Nathan Wong from UAN who assisted me during the day, it was time to head home and reflect on a truly memorable wedding day.
Thank you Kathryn and Marty for allowing me to capture your day and take some remarkably beautiful wedding photographs.
One of my personal favourites from the entire day! Kathryn looks so relaxed and happy here, exactly how she was throughout the wedding.
A lot of clients are after candid photos for their wedding, but some classic wedding photography shots are always important.
Candid photo of Marty being the gentleman that he is and helping his wife through the grass for some more photos.
The three flower girls give the newly married couple a hug as they arrive at their wedding reception.
