Palm Beach, a northern beachside suburb of Sydney, is a remarkable place. Quiet, Secluded and pristine. It’s also a great for wedding photography!
I shot Jess & Taur’s wedding in the Palm Beach area, and they celebrated their wedding at Moby Dicks Whale Beach.
After some relaxed photos in Iluka Resort Apartments, Palm Beach…it was literally a 2 minute drive down the road to Lucinda Park. It’s a small little park/reserve which backs onto Pittwater and has a stunning view of the water and coastline.
With the ceremony taking place outdoors, we were blessed with bright blue skies and a high sun all reflecting off the water. With the ceremony out of the way, a group photo was done and some great family portraits with 4 generations of family members.
It was then time to go for a quick 10 minute drive down to the waters edge at Palm Beach. The beauty of this place isn’t just the beach. It’s got some great little park lands opposite the beach with enormous trees stretching up into the sky – A perfect back drop for the newlyweds!
Considering it was a Saturday afternoon, the beach was almost empty which worked out perfect for us! Palm Beach wedding photography can be popular so we were also lucky to not have any other couples looking for a photo.
I managed to time our arrival at the beach to match the setting sun and beautiful soft light. Right away Jess and Taur had their shoes off and were strolling along the beach. Shoes in one hand, partner’s hand in the other and the tranquil beach behind. It sure did make my job easy!
We stayed on Palm Beach for a little while till the sun had set, with the entire bridal party enjoying the view, the laughs and the champagne.
After another short drive we arrived at Moby Dicks Whale Beach. This great wedding venue sits high above the beach with uninterrupted views over the water. While the guests enjoyed drinks and canapĂ©’s inside, there was a cute little dedicated area setup outside for the bridal party complete with fairy lights and their own personal bar! Very nice.
One of the special moments of the day was when Jess’s grand father called to say congratulations. He couldn’t make it to the wedding due to illness but still wanted to be part of the day and so Jess also asked me to take a photo of them talking.
After the food and speeches it was time to dance…and dance they did! A beautiful first dance by the newlyweds who were quickly joined by their friends and family.
Working with clients like Jess & Taur for Palm Beach wedding photography was such an enjoyable day. It was a pleasure to be a part of their wedding!
